Wat Phra Non Chakkrasi Worawihan

History
Located in Chak Si Subdistrict, Wat Phra Non Chakkrasi Worawihan is a third-class royal monastery. It is believed to have been built before Ayutthaya became the capital. The main viharn houses a large reclining Buddha with Sukhothai-style features. The image is 47 metres and 42 centimetres long, with its face pointing north and its head to the east. The temple also houses Phra Kan, a stone Buddha image coated with lacquer and gold leaf, and Phra Kaeo, a beautifully formed Buddha image seated in the diamond posture. Both images were created during the reign of King Rama V and served as principal Buddha images in the oath-taking ceremony for government officials.
