Wat Pa Mok Worawihan

History
Wat Pa Mok Worawihan is in Pa Mok Subdistrict Municipality on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. The temple houses a beautiful reclining Buddha image made of brick and mortar and covered in gold leaf. It measures 22.58 metres from the ushnisha to the feet. The image is believed to date from the Sukhothai period. A local story says it floated down the river and sank in front of the temple; residents performed a ritual and hauled it up to enshrine it on the riverbank.
