Wat Lai is beside the Bang Kham River in Khao Samo Khon Subdistrict. Prince Damrong Rajanubhab once visited and wrote in his travel-by-rail account that the temple stood just west of Khao Samo Khon, by the river, and was an old temple dating from the early Ayutthaya period.
