Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat Worawiharn

History
Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat Worawiharn is on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in Bang Si Mueang Subdistrict. It is a second-class royal monastery of the Worawihan type. Rama III had it built in B.E. 2390 (1847) in dedication to his paternal grandparents and mother; construction was completed during Rama IV’s reign. The grounds are described as peaceful, clean and shaded, with old and new buildings harmonizing while preserving the original style. In B.E. 2536 (1993), the Association of Siamese Architects awarded it an Outstanding Conservation Building award.
