Wat Chai Mongkhon

History
The temple was built around B.E. 2400, near the end of King Rama IV’s reign. Its name, Wat Chai Mongkhon, is linked in the Thai source to the point where boat races were decided, on the course running upstream toward Wat Sanam Chai, the starting point. The ubosot now has newly painted murals that blend modern art with traditional styles.
