Town Wall and Moat

History
The original town walls were earthen, like those of Sukhothai. They are believed to have been built during the reign of King Borommatrailokkanat in preparation for conflict with King Tilokaraj of the Lanna Kingdom. Later, King Maha Chakkraphat ordered the walls repaired in preparation for Burmese attacks.
