History

The monument is about 5 kilometres beyond Laem Mae Phim on the road toward Klaeng District. It commemorates Sunthon Phu, a leading poet of the early Rattanakosin period. The monument opened on 25 May 1970 (B.E. 2513), and statues of the main characters from his story Phra Aphai Mani are displayed there.
