San Phra Kan

History
Located beside the railway east of Prang Sam Yot in Tha Hin Subdistrict, this is an old Khmer sanctuary built from laterite blocks stacked into a tall base. It was formerly known as San Sung. A sandstone lintel depicting Vishnu reclining on the cosmic ocean, dated to around the 16th Buddhist century, rests against the wall of a small upper viharn. An octagonal stone inscription in ancient Mon script was also found here.
