History

The name “Lanta” comes from the Javanese word “Lantas,” meaning a wooden, rectangular fish-grilling platform raised like a table. The national park covers 134 square kilometers and includes 25 islands divided into 4 groups: Ko Rok, Ko Ha (Tukon Lima), Ko Ngai, and Ko Lanta.
