King Taksin Shrine

History
The shrine is on Tha Luang Road, in front of Taksin Camp. It is a nine-sided building with a roof shaped like a royal hat or pointed cap. Inside is a statue of King Taksin the Great, which many people come to worship each day. On 28 December each year—the date described as the anniversary of his accession—merit-making and offerings are held to honor his role in restoring Ayutthaya.
