Chao Por Chang Puek Shrine

History
Chao Por Chang Puek Shrine is a small shrine beside the northern moat, at the corner of Manat Road and Phon Saen Road. It was built around a stone post associated with a white elephant brought by people from Phu Khiao and tied there so officials of the Royal Elephant Department could examine it. The report would then be made to King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke (Rama I) for consideration as a royal mount.
