Ban Thung Hong

History
The Ban Thung Charoen natural-dye indigo enterprise is on Yantrakit Koson Road in Thung Hong Subdistrict. The village is known for producing mo hom shirts, based on local knowledge passed down from ancestors who migrated from Mueang Phuan, Chiang Khwang, Laos, in B.E. 2360–2380. It was selected as an OTOP handicraft tourism village. “Mo hom” is a local term: “mo” means a pot containing indigo dye, a navy-colored liquid made by fermenting the stems and leaves of an herbaceous indigo plant. The village also has homestays for visitors.
