Ban Nam Chiao Community Tourism Enterprise
History
This cultural tourism community reflects the colourful, multicultural lives of Muslim and Buddhist residents and people of Thai and Chinese descent who live together in the village. Activities include crossing the “Test Your Willingness” bridge, boat trips to watch Brahminy kites circle as they hunt, diving for fat innkeeper worms and lamp shell clams, exploring mangroves, and learning about local life and a culture shaped by two religions and three ethnic origins. Visitors can also watch demonstrations of nipa-leaf hat making and try crispy local snacks called “Tang-me” and “Khao Krieb Ya Na.”
