After filing an annual personal income-tax return, you may want to check whether it was submitted successfully, follow a refund and find out how to send additional documents if the Revenue Department asks for them. This article describes the process for tax year 2022, filed in 2023. It is a historical guide; current website menus, authentication requirements and upload rules may have changed.
Check the status of your tax return
After filing, first check the return status to confirm that the submission was successful.
Sign in to check the return
Go to the Revenue Department website, choose the “Online Filing” menu and sign in with your personal account details. Use the Department’s official website and do not enter identity information on a link from an unverified message.
Check the filing result
After signing in, open the “Check Filing Result” menu. The status is shown there. The historical instructions say a successful filing displays the message “Return filed successfully.”
Print the return and receipt
After checking the status, you can print the filed tax return and receipt for your records. Select the three-dot button next to the successfully filed return, then enter your Laser ID—the code on the back of the Thai national ID card—to verify your identity. The page then allows you to print the return and receipt. Follow the Revenue Department’s current instructions before providing an identity code.
Check the tax-refund status
After confirming the filing status, the next step is to check where the refund request is in the process.
Sign in to My Tax Account
The historical guide says refund status can be checked through My Tax Account, a service provided by the Revenue Department. It describes opening My Tax Account from the Department’s website or the online tax-filing page, then signing in with a national ID number, password and Laser ID. Authentication requirements may have changed since the 2022 tax-year process.
Track a refund request
After signing in to My Tax Account, choose “Track Status and Submit Documents.” The page shows the refund’s current processing stage and may provide details about documents the Revenue Department needs.
Send additional documents to the Revenue Department
In some cases, the Revenue Department may ask for more documents to assess a tax refund. The source describes these steps for sending them.
Open the document-submission menu
In My Tax Account, choose “Track Status and Submit Documents,” then select “Submit Documents” to upload the relevant files.
Supported file types and size limits in the source guide
The source guide lists JPG, BMP, PNG, TIF and PDF files, with a maximum of 1 MB per file and 20 MB in total. These are the limits stated for the historical process; confirm current limits on the official portal before uploading.
Submitting documents before they are requested
The source says additional documents could be submitted even before the Revenue Department formally requested them. If you have documents related to the refund and want the Department to consider them, the guide says they could be uploaded through “Submit Documents.” Check current instructions before sending unsolicited personal or financial documents.
Checking the filing and refund status and submitting documents are parts of tax administration. Understanding the process can help you follow a return and handle documents, but the result and timing of a refund depend on the Revenue Department’s review and the individual return.
